AGAiff - The Low-Level Image Converter for Amiga
AGAiff converts graphics into several 'low-level' (raw)
formats. It loads images through a built-in high speed IFF-ILBM
loader, datatypes or reads IFF animations directly from disk on a per
frame basis. AGAiff can even convert large images from fast memory
into many different save formats and features an extensive ARexx Port.
The latest version is 2.9
(163K), which requires OS 3.0 or later and an MC68020. The screen shot
at the right side had to be made with UAE,
since all my AGA Amigas are non-functional since 1998 :(
Features:
- OS-conformant (hey, yes - that was kinda surprising back when that program came out :D)
- No special GUI toolkits required, it's plain intuition/graphics/gadtools.
- It's smaller than 32K!
- Many different save formats: the ones worth mentioning are
e.g. all AGA sprite types, some chunky save modes, converting of HAM
pictures into pure color data etc., and 9 different color save
formats.
- Can convert big pictures from fast memory
- Animation support, loading frames directly from disk and saving
memory!
- Powerful ARexx-Port, supporting all stuff from the GUI and more
- Can load pictures via datatypes.library
- Full source code provided!
- ... and more !
Similar programs of this kind are PicCon and ArtPro, which are also
available from Aminet and have some neat features, but also miss an
ARexx port.
